After reading all the McRyan series, I was excited to come across the new Hunter series by the same author. I read Silenced Girls while flying across the country and couldn't put it down. I read lots of mysteries and often can figure out the plot halfway - but this book kept me on my toes with unexpected twists and surprise ending! Just as good if not better than McRyan series. Highly recommend! Can't wait for the next in the series. I have read each of the authors McRyan series of books and found them quite enjoyable, and this new series featuring different characters – but the same area of the country – proves just as good. The characters and scenes are believable, the dialogue crisp, and I found myself not wanting to put it down in an unsuccessful attempt of trying to finish it one night. The author has a way of making you feel as if you are part of the novel vs. an outside observer. If you like Harlan Coben, Stelljes s in my opinion much better.I bought the Kindle version of this book for $3.99 and, as I type up this review, it is on sale for just 99 cents: while being a bit bummed the price is now lower, I certainly received a heck of a lot more than $3.99 worth of entertainment value out of this one. If you like a good mystery / thriller, I would recommend adding this one to your Kindle.
